I love this. I love the idea that this is how Orden works - that it's not as simple as flipping a switch, that though it makes a person obey it does not automatically make them agree with what they're doing. I like that that comes later, that it creeps in little by little until it takes over. I've been trying to figure out how, precisely, the whole thing was supposed to work, but this? Yes. Hello, new head-canon.

I'm really really glad you like it, because I had you in mind when I wrote this. We'd flailed before about Richard and Rahl's relationship in "Unbroken" and I'm so fascinated by Orden versus Confession.

I love the slow build-up of devotion, and Richard, so sweet, so innocent, so creepy ;)

This is a very believable take on Orden :D

I remember reading this. It's a really interesting look at Orden. It's a really chilling moment when 'the screaming stops' and peace is achieved but at the cost of his true personality.
