I've recently begun to rewatch Farscape, in order, from the very beginning. I haven't talked very much about it in this journal, despite it holding the #1 spot in my heart. Or very close to it anyway. I consider it the best show I've ever seen, and it's always in my Top Five Favorite Ever. I want to talk about it more, especially now I'm doing the ( Read more... )

I haven't, but I've heard so many people speak so highly of it that I decided a while back that I must give it a try at some point when I can acquire it.

It says something about Farscape that my main reaction to the picspam was 'Pilot, hug'. The Muppets will make you cry.

It's still on my list of Teevee I Want To See One Day. (I actually checked out the first few episodes a couple of years back but, um, was kinda bored? /o\ I'll return to it someday, though.)

I can see how the first few can be a little on the slow side, says the rational part of me. If I came at S1 totally fresh, I might be a little hesitant, too. BUT IT'S SO GOOD OMG CRIES. GIVE IT ANOTHER CHANCE.

I AM SORRY! My entire flist is besotted with Farscape so I know it'll probably blow me away, but the first 3-4 episodes did not wow me.

However, I am definitely planning on continuing with it someday. (Maybe after all my shows retire for summer hiatus? I need to watch something on the train anyway.)

Putting aside my tinhat, I really can see that. I mean, I love the show, but I honestly don't love every single episode. There are some that I'd really rather not watch again, haha. And early S1 is definitely a show that's trying to figure itself out, much like every other show. I just realized that I didn't say this in my post, but while I've been OMG FARSCAPE for some time, it's only taken me NOW to go back and rewatch all of S1, bcause, um, I've only seen 5 episodes of S1 previously. For me, the show kicks into high gear from S2 onwards, but you really should start from the beginning, because S1 laid a lot of groundwork, and I hadn't even realize how much I've been missing.
