If that premise isn't gross enough, here's a promo picture, aka "hai, I'm a smug white douche!" Or how about this one, aka "women! they're totally interchangeable sex objects!"
UUUUGGGGGGHHHH!!!!!
I am so glad to learn of this bullshit only after its much deserve demise.
SO GLAD.
That way the actresses are posed in the second image is meant to remind straight male viewers of twat shots in nudie mags, Y/Y?
His disaffected face makes me want to climb in and smack him. Hard. As if he's OH SO MISERABLE AND STRUCK WITH ENNUI about the life he has made for himself willfully and at the expense of two women. UUGGGHH.
AND FUCK YES TO YOUR LAST BIT. The disaffected face REALLY bugs me. And just the whole concept behind it. HE'S TRYING TO MAKE IT WORK... at the expense of two women. Not that I can't be convinced to love a morally ambiguous, or even an amoral character (Profit really comes to mind, don't know if you know that show. Dexter counts, too, in a way), or characters who do terrible things, but the inherent concept in Lone Star is so GROSS. You can't even bring me to the table in the first place to convince me that this is something worthy of my interest. And I'm really glad the ratings reflect that, when it's a total bomb right from the beginning. It didn't bring anybody else to the table with that concept either.
