It's more of a lulzy thing now than real hate, because he bought himself a certain amount of affection from me for being pretty awesome in one of his guest appearances on Burn Notice. Before that though, well. It wasn't so much him, but more his fans drove me NUTS with their insanity. They'd act like he's god of acting or something, and he's decent, but he ain't THAT great.

I was never into SG-1, so I only experienced the crazy wanking off fandom_wank and that was mostly hilarious more than anything, but afterwards, Shanks would guest-star on other shows. For example, he did something like a five-ep stint on 24. His fangirls were like, "oh, I guess I'll deign to see this show. Just for him." Which is SO bitch please. Not like I haven't seen shows JUST for an actor, but they sounded SO incredibly condescending about it. Feh.
Some actors, I can tolerate and even like their bitchy pretentiousness. But Shanks just rubs me the wrong way.
Am NOT with them on the dirty fem!dom fantasy anymore because they SUCK AT IT.

Why couldn't they have told the uplifting story of a hot dude taken from mine work to be a love slave who ends up with an UBER RADICAL woman who's agitating for equal rights for all peoples and how they fall in EPIC LURVE which heals him from the titillating way he was abused by owners x, y, and z or some shit like that? And she's all against having sex with slaves because she cannot abide non-con and he's all "no, lady, look, it's totally con! Seriously! UR HOT" and gets her to compromise her morals with his cute tush.

Yeah, I was pretty epic facepalm at the costumes and the SNAKE WORSHIPPING. I got maybe about 15 minutes into it. Apparently my love for bad sci-fi movies has a limit, and I've seen some seriously hardcore shit for really terrible actors. I mean, I watch through the whole of Deep Evil for Lorenzo Lamas. Yes yes, mock away.
