Re: the name. My problem is more that I keep getting the character's name muddled up with Thomas Jane.

I heard rumour that it was so that Vince wouldn't be regulated by the various state Athletic commissions. Which I could at least understand while thinking it sounds dumb.

Yeah, I've heard that it was a duck out of Athletic Commission thing, too, but that actually angers me EVEN MORE, because they're sneaking out of even more responsibilities where the physical aspect is concerned when they're already disgustingly irresponsible with the whole independent contractor bullshit.

OMG YES. T____________T Kevin Spacey really broke my heart in that movie. And boy howdy yes has Simon Baker grown up since then. He's way hotter now with age, but then again, I've always preferred older guys.

I really do think that until someone with power does something, like setting up a pro-wrestling regulatory body, Vince is going to carry on in his skeezy way. I do wonder if they'd be covered by Equity or SAG or someone now.

When you started talking about Smith I did wonder why he looked familiar so I looked him up on IMDB, and my first thought was 'my, how they grow', because he looked so sweet and innocent and un-stubbled in LA Confidential.

The whole "Entertainment" thing is painfully dumb (unless what RF said above me is right and it's to avoid the whole regulations issue). Soon "entertainment events" will take place in "buildings" in "towns." Attendance worldwide will plummet.

It's not just the dumb aspect that pains me, though it always pisses me off when Vince shows how ashamed he is of wrestling, but the whole irresponsibility factor. They're sneaking more and more out of being responsible for the health and safety of their employees. How disgusting is that?

Urgh, I should've thought of that aspect of the situation. It's INCREDIBLY disgusting if that's what's behind the whole change when what the business needs is more mandation, federally prefferably.
