Will miss. I don't have a Blogger account (yet), but I'll drop by to visit now and again.

Take care, Ang. Stop by anytime, if you like.

Thank you, Banazir!

It is time for me to seek a different path. I hope you will drop by every so often. I will keep this journal if only to read my friends' posts. You constantly surprise me, which is a good thing indeed.

Aw, damn, and I just found your journal, and was so pleased to find it, too. I have zero interest in fandom wars myself, but was pleased to find the LJ of a fiction writer I respected.

Will the blogspot blog have an RSS feed so I can follow it on my LJ friends page, per chance?

I am going to try to get an RSS feed set up, and maybe an Atom feed, too. Thanks for the interest - I'll try to keep writing things worth reading. :-)

Hey, thanks for setting up that RSS feed. I will definitely keep reading and commenting. I'm a huge LOTR fan, a published novelist and progressive political junkie. As I said, I'm glad I've found your journal, even if you're pulling up stakes and going elsewhere!

Sigh. The "serious/geekchic/political folks don't use LJ" meme strikes again. Not that I'm sighing from especially sturdy ground, because A) I haven't explored the advantages of blogspot; I came straight to LJ because I have a bunch of RL friends here, and B) I never aspired to seriousness. But I like having seriousness on my flist. I've got a nice coffeehouse mix: mundanities about cats and bats and thesis proposals, fannish rant and squee and silliness and that endless astonishing joy and creative compulsion kick-started by mutually adored books and t.v., and then the people like you, and ginmar, and joan.

I was the one who pestered joan to paste her messageboard rants into an LJ. I knew fannish people would recognize her and read, and tell a few of their fannish friends to read. Yes, personally, I syndicate dkos and co., too, but it's cool when worlds collide. I'm so interested in politics partly because several much-admired fannish acquaintances are interested ( ... )

Sigh, not exactly what I would prefer, either anglachel1 October 16 2004, 18:00:10 UTC
I'm not leaving for Blogger because I think politics can't be covered in LJ land - look at Joan and ginmar for clear refutations - but rather because the latest round of fandom psychopathic acting out has just done it for me. I need some respite from the junior high school atmosphere. As I said in an earlier reply, I'm going to try to RSS the new blog so you can pull it in. Not the same, I know, but best for my peace of mind.

I, too, will miss your LJ, particularly the political rants. I've saved the other site to favorites, but let's face it, that's no guarentee that I will remember to check in daily or semi-daily. But, your blog, your choice, and I'll just have to live.

Sorry to see you go, though. Too bad LJ lately has such and either/or reputation. Why can't it be BOTH fandom and politics, and mundane life, too? Oh well.
