I have to share: I was reading quickly and I read it as 'babies.' Babies do look a bit funny, and they're surprisingly flexible so I thought, well, maybe a little kid would think they could turn their heads all the way around... and then I got to the point about your brother showing you their heads could come off and I went OMG WTF.

...and then I figured out my mistake. ;)
