It's such a happy, yet low-key ending for Faith. She's doomed-ish, but she's finally made a kind of peace with it and she's cured of the Slayer death wish. I think you... anti-Jossed her.

have i? in my thinking her little stop-over in diner-limbo was just that, a brief pause, a "it could have been like this, but being a Slayer and all, she knows what's going to happen and more than likely, it won't be pretty (i.e. the big bad in San Francisco.) it's a temptation for her to stay, but in the end, she won't stay -- she's got a job to do, she's a Slayer and when Spike and Illyria show up, she knows her little break from the whole Destiny thing is over. time to head back out and do her thing.

of course, all of what i've just said is only vaguely implied in what i wrote, but it was my thinking as i was writing it/ setting it up.
