That's what I told my niece, who said that her English teacher told her he didn't like fantasy.

It's silly really, the bias against fantasy. When you look at the classics, from ancient Greece to Shakespeare and beyond, an awful lot of it would be considered fantasy.

I say *we're* really the cool kids. ;)

I honestly think that it is by and large the fantasy that makes this world a better place.

I totally agree. Everyone has to get lost in fantasy to get away from reality at some point...and if you don't need to do that every now and again...then you are odd!!! LOL!!!

You just keep doing what you are doing...none of us are complaining :)

I would say that if fiction is judged by the emotional maturity needed to read it, a good deal of YA -- realistic or specfic -- is better than the adult equivalents.
