Ah those foreign reviews...

Are there any German-speakers out there who can improve on the Babelfish translation of this, which amused me immensely but did leave me if not entirely in the dark then certainly with a very dim light on the subject...? The reviewer SORT ogf liked it, no...?

"The Return of the Queen is the second and last volume from Alma Alexander's "Change of Days" trilogy. The beginning is comprised again of a map of the three kingdoms in which the author leaves her story to be played out. And since Germany had to wait over 6 months for volume 2, the chapter "What happened up until now" is ideal as an introduction and also allows newcomers to understand the most, if not all, of what happens in "The Return of the Queen ( ... )

from that translation I suspect the reviewer might be a convert to the Secondary Characters Have Rights Too campaign *smiles sweetly*

I'd say that the reviewer respects your choices without necessarily agreeing with them - too grim, too hopeless, too many people die, too fantastic a resolution- but overall, I get the feeling she'll pick up your next book.

And I'd say this is a solid review, it's very even-handed and other readers might evaluate the same points differently.
