Apres moi le deluge...

Jan 09, 2009 20:43

Went for a walk today with my trusty camera to record what sleepy old Whatcom Creek had become after the Great Floods of 2009... and it's a MONSTER.

Pics below cut as usual... )

seasons, floods, mother nature

Amazing pics... hopefully you and yours are safe where you are.

Also, have you ever heard of Regina Spektor? She's a musician. On her Begin to Hope album, my favorite song is Apres Moi and your blog title is one of the lines. It's an awesome piece.

I'll have a listen but I knew the line from the lips of Louis XV of France [grin]

And to all - we're quite a ways from the "deluge", and up a couple of hills. However, it's STILL raining...

We have snow... as in a foot plus... that all came down last night. White outs in areas. And of course, we're Ohio and poor, so they aren't salting nearly as much. So I'm effectively snowed in for the weekend. Not necessarily a bad thing since if push comes to shove, I can walk to the grocery store... assuming they are still open. :)

I think you'll like her music. It's very unique. I first heard one of her songs, The Call, at the end of the Narnia movie, Prince Caspian. I went out and got the soundtrack it was so good. Then found her and searched her on YouTube and got one of her CD's. I want the rest of them.
