17catherines has linked to Gabriel Kahane's Craigslistlieder, a collection of songs with lyrics drawn from...well, Craigslist. Go listen, for it is TRULY WONDROUS. #8 is particularly epic, I think. Although my favorite is probably the third movement ("Half a Box of Condoms").

I like Bostridge too, and I've seen him a couple of times, though I do think he is much better suited to some things than others. Amazing at lieder, for instance; I saw him in Britten's "Death in Venice" a couple of years ago and wasn't *completely* convinced though. (Also, random fact, he was at the same (high) school as me.)

I think we have found a worthy successor to Tom Lehrer. These are extraordinary.

And I can kind of see what you mean about Bostridge. We're all damned.
