OMG. I had never seen the play before. I had only read it once - really more of a skimming. The production made me instantly love the play and it jumped to my top ten of Shakespeare. I wept from the sheer beauty of the speaking of the verse. That had never happened before. Slinger was amazing. I was crying all throughout the deposition scene. When he wiped the makeup from his face... it was killer.
R2 set the tone for the whole weekend. Intermission came, and I already knew that the next three days were going to be the greatest experience ever.

I wept many bitter tears over my total lack of funds, because as you know, Bob, it is my FAVORITE PLAY EVER and criminy it looked SO GOOD HOLY SHIT.

I did not! Though I figured it was some sort of in-joke, and in fact it is AWESOME. They did not do it in the 2001 version.
