via medievalstudies: Impending digital version of The Forme of Cury. Yay!

Also, today I learned that if your class is tanking out, showing them videos in which people wear giant plastic phalloi livens things up a lot.

I had to click the link, since I've been reading Forme of Cury online for the k'zoo paper. It didn't make sense!

I wish they had standardized spelling. *whimper* it would make this so much easier.

Huh. I was just reading about The Forme of Cury the other day, in a book on British food through the ages. Mortrews for everyone!

I think I need videos like that. Animated Beardsley illustrations perhaps?

omg Forme of Cury I LOVE YOU FOR POINTING TO THIS.

I was going to ask what a Genitorturers concert video had to do with college classes, but I see it was Lysistrata. Woo!

...I don't even know who the Genitorturers are. Nor am I at all sure I want to know! But, yeah, Lysistrata.

This is the video (one of the videos, but this was the only phallus-related one) I showed them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFTtYrcqw9w

Genitorturers: amusing, file under shock-rock. They do a wonderful cover of "I Touch Myself." I tried to find video of the live presentation that involves glow-in-the-dark dildos.

But this will give you the general idea, a different song:
