I think it would be much easier to cope if I didn't have three classes in one day or the first of them didn't meet at 8 am.

The very first class I ever taught was at 8 am. Then I had another one at 9. At least this time out I don't have to teach again until 10:50.

YAY!

...that is the "transvestite cabaret singer" picture! Hee. I think that is why I introduced you to Bellowhead in the first place -- because "Flash Company" is totally what his act would sound like. ;)

Breathe deeply and say with me, "The students are unlikely to fall upon me and gnaw my face off."

Repeat as needed. You may alternate with, "Who has the red pen? I have the red pen!" if you feel that's necessary. Good luck.

This is very true.

I mean, I usually grade in purple, but metaphorically speaking...

(and, I mean, I've done plenty of teaching, it's just that it's a new class, and it's at 8 am, and *flail*)

Deep breath, put a chocolate brownie and an apple in your bag, make sure you have your purple pen and your Big Class Teaching Voice, and go for it, hon.
I find that the knowledge that there is something tasty in my bag is remarkably bolstering.
