[Middleton] our OTHER other Shakespeare

So it looks like I'm not the only one attempting to read the complete Middleton!

...I mean, obviously not, but it's kind of neat to see another blog about it. This guy seems not to be doing it in the book's order, or at least has zeroed in on Macbeth (which, newcomers will be a bit surprised to know, makes it in on the basis of the argument that ( Read more... )

You should totally read Middleton with me! Not everything he wrote is online -- I don't think any of his non-dramatic stuff is on there -- but some of it the plays are available here.

Macbeth is in there because some of the material in the Hecate scenes comes from Middleton's The Witch. Also, Gary Taylor's criteria for inclusion in the complete works were not very strict. ;)

You're most welcome. The Evil Shakespeare Overlord List was the work of many, and of many bad directors. ;)

You can actually comment with an OpenID account as well -- there is a little bit of info here, if you don't want to register for LJ. :)
