So sollersuk mentioned in a comment to my last post that I might be interested in the 16th-century Welsh pirate Sir Thomas Prys, who wrote what sounds like some completely fun and cracked-out poetry on subjects like piracy and being in prison, because he was a believer in the dictum that writers should write what they know
