This morning I got a phone call from my aunt, who offered to take me to a great big used book sale that's going on in West County. Of course, I couldn't resist this opportunity, so I went, and have now acquired $70 worth of used books, which is, all things considered, a truly impressive stack of them, mostly old anthologies (I collect them), drama ( Read more... )

OMG LibraryThing. I agree 100%- soon as my next paycheck comes through, I'm upgrading to a paid account. I keep going back and just gazing rapturously at my books.

That's because we are women of exquisite taste!

Also, I am looking through your catalogue now and would dearly like to know about the Harry of Monmouth book tagged "wtf." ;)

I keeping thinking about signing up for LibraryThing, but the thought of having to record all my books is daunting. And I'd run out of free book spaces before even getting to the end of my Star Wars shelf....

wait...*blink*

That first sentance only comes out of the mouths of residents in one town. It also happens that there's this big book sale at this mall, down the street from me.

And yes, they get a lot of them from the rejects of school lit collections, esp places like Burroughs and MICDS. Though last year, I bought some ARCs of a couple historical novels, and they made these last few weeks a whole lot more motivated, having something to look foward to when I finished all the papers.

Hidely-ho, neighborino! ;)

I keep forgetting that my location isn't in my info anymore -- granted anyone who knows me IRL who happens on this journal can guess pretty easily who I am, but I don't need to make it THAT easy for them.

Dude.

Would you be willing to part with that Folio facsimile? I wouldn't ask, but you mentioned you already have one, and I've been scouring used-book sales for one since Christmas, and, um, I would pay shipping of course.

Drop me a line?

oh no!! oh no! You cannot show me lists of other people's books! I start making lists of "oh. I -need- that." And that one and this one, and "hey, look at that...", and "hey. that would go nice to that." And "Huh.I dont have that edition"
