the alphabet meme

Because everyone else is doing it, and I figured, why not? It looked fun.

Comment on this entry and I will give you a letter. Write ten words beginning with that letter, and tell us what the word means to you and why.

ataniell93 gave me K, and it was surprisingly difficult to come up with ten not-completely-random things. But here goes:

Stuff that starts with K )

monarchy, branagh, trekkiness, marlowe

Mmm. Kenneth Branagh. Mmm.

(My relevant formative moments are attributable to Much Ado About Nothing, which is presumbly even less credible, but luckily my academic credibility doesn't depend on my taste in films and sexy actors :-)

And if you would like to give me a letter, I could be corrupted into attempting my first ever LJ meme...

I need to watch Henry V again. I haven't in ages because I need to hook my VCR up. I really should!

Your letter is C. :)

'Is it St Swithin's day already? Tis said Aunt HELga!'

Sorry, I've just always found that episide completly hilarious. 'Soon, I'll be queen of summertime...king! king!'

Erm, I'll be quiet now.

Oh, I've always liked that one too. "That sinister-lookin' kid is comin' to KILL ME!"

I watched a TV show on the history channel called "HOw William Shatner changed the world." It was amazing, and made me want to go out and buy the original Star Trek DVDs. But I didn't, because I am a poor college student.

Your letter is T.

I saw a bit of that Shatner thing, but only the very end of it, where it talked about how DS9 was technophobic and nobody liked it. Feh, I say. ;)

I know! I liked it... It's on at 11am on Spike here, and that's when I eat lunch Mon, Wed, and Friday!

I recall looking it up and finding out that Saint Swithun was spelt with a "u." This was a big surprise to me. Google has more people spelling it with an "i" than with a "u," so now I'm confused, like.

Dad and I played PDQ's "Toot Fugue" for his keyboard club, years ago. As he always can be counted on to have a two- or three-note whistle, we used one for the toots (which he handled, being the Primo)(except the last one, for which I surreptitiously pulled out his duck call). It was a hit.

Also had a hit with some excerpts from "The Seasonings" for the Goethe-Institut in Houston, but that story takes longer to tell, and it's time for me to go pick up our dinner at the pizza place across the street.
