Dear John Dryden,

While "hate" is a very strong word and I try to avoid it even when addressing dead poets, I really, really, REALLY don't like you, you creepy Tory hack.

No love whatsoever,
Lea

Dear John Milton,

I like you a lot better than I like Dryden, but I'm not particularly happy with you at the moment, either.

Exasperatedly yours,
Lea

I thought you were a Milton fangirl? dakiwiboid June 29 2005, 14:13:58 UTC
What's provoked your ire? Dryden sucks rocks through a sieve, generally.

I am a Milton fangirl, but I'm really, really frustrated with this stupid paper I'm trying to write.

I imagine ,if you like poetry, which can
be a big if today, something good written
about dryen could help...I dont know off hand
but it was c s lewis' gift to make attractive
writers who might seem remote ,perhaps his
preface to paradise lost and 'seventeenth
century english literature' might be the
specifics for these two...

Yo, Andrew Marvel, the first critic:

You creepy Tory hack... I'm gonna have to remember that one.

You're so cute when you're indignant. ;)
