Somebody here at some point recommended to me a book that they think makes a good preparation for ERB. I can't seem to find what it was though. Anyone?

(no, nobody in my family is taking ERBs :) )

parenthood, development, english, shopping

What's ERB's? I this the preschool test? I'd think Amazon would have the books, like for SATs... I'm just curious - what do they test? Reading, numbers, etc?

no idea -- but I remember looking at a book someone recommended and thinking it was just a good kind of book of puzzles and quizzes for the kids.

I recommended KTSS (just do a search on the web), as well as thinkingtolearn.com. Both of these have stuff that prepares, but indirectly. the only direct thing is a tutor who is actually familiar with a test.

hmm, searching for KTSS is not getting me anything immediately relevant.

I obviously don't need a tutor -- I just remember someone (you?) giving a link to what looked to me like a useful book just in terms of "problems" for a kid to work through -- we have a similar one in Russian, but I wanted an English one, too

http://kindergarten-test.com/ - this is the website for KTSS. Very useful for OLSAT and ERB.

http://www.thinkingtolearn.com/cgi/commerce.cgi?search=action&category=0002&keywords=all - this is the place to order another book which I found very useful for my 4 year old.

Mind you - she hasn't taken the test yet (will be in January), so I don't know whether we had any results.

yes, that's the books I meant. Thank you!

I guess we'll compare notes in January -- that's when our son will be doing the interviews, too. Actually, we have one coming up in december, too. Oh well..

We are mostly resigned to the idea that he won't be admitted, but it's still interesting to try.
