The girl seemed pretty Mary Sue-ish, but the actual writing of it was good. I'd like to see something of yours that doesn't involve a romantic pairing

I guess I should have pointed out in the Author's Notes that this is the prompt I was given by my friend who requested this piece. These are her words verbatim:

"Could you do me a favor as well. Could you Mary Sue (Violet) me into a fic that is about RONON and his hot Leather Pants? Picture me as Abby (Goth) from NCIS but with violet eyes! *rubs hands waiting* Please!"

But thank you for the critique and I'll see what I can do about a Gen fic soon.

I'm sorry, but 2 positives in your first sentence yet you used a "but" in between.... that's not right. Secondly, you're on a ship writers LJ you can't ask for a Gen story, Dee likes the romance and relationship so she writes it.

Also whereas I agree with your comments on what a Mary Sue is, you are looking at twisting two fandom's that generally don't have Mary Sue's into one story under a prompt, you couldn't put a little more positive spin on your criticism?

I like the story and that's rare for me with OFC, its not something I generally go for. I thought it was enough Mary Sue and I bet you it was enough for the person requesting it. Good work Dee.

Re: the but thing -- I didn't know she was going for a Mary Sue, so that part was actually a negative.

Re: two fandoms -- as I unfortunately didn't read the author's note before reading or commenting, I didn't know she was doing a NCIS/SGA crossover. I got linked to this from a newsletter on my flist and went straight to the fic. This was obviously a mistake, and I'm sorry. If I had known this all was intentional and not just a common mistake I surely would have been more positive. As it was, I was just trying to give the author some advice for the future, which I though was much needed.

Re: Only gen fics here -- also because of me simply getting linked from my flist, I didn't know this. I'm also sorry for that, and you can completely ignore it.

I love Sheppard sparring with Ronon too. It's one of my favorite things to see on the show. That's why I leaned towards Ronon letting John beat the hell out of him so he could keep going to the infirmary. Little guilty pleasure of mine.

LOL! I was hearing him say that in his voice, and I thought wow I bet he does! Then, I read the end of the sentence and went "OOOHhhhhhh yes so true" because that was what I was thinking.

My hubby asked if I was ok in here. LOL! I said yes that I was reading your fic. He laughed. He knows I am a nut like when I ask him to growl for me...LOL! I am getting a little sleepy and my brain is turning to mush.

I watched the marathon yesterday. They aired eps that I hadn't seen yet and damn they were good. So, inspiration hit and I incorporated part of one of the eps into the fic last night. A tender moment that I am loving. Should be another day before I'm done and I'll post it!
