His smile can make his day brighter. His voice can make him melt. Their relationship is envied by everyone because even though they are both guys, they are perfect for each other. Jonghyun is the luckiest guy when Key confessed to him. He likes it when Key puts a lot of effort for to make him the happiest person in the world. He never fails to show Key that he loves him too by being a very affectionate lover to him.
Jonghyun means the world to Key. Key means the world to Jonghyun until he was forced to marry someone else.
As much as he wants to choose his happiness, he can’t. He’s not selfish. He thinks about it a hundred times before making up a final decision.
He leaves Key without a word and went out of the country to avoid backing out of the marriage. His family needs this because their company is going bankrupt. In order to make their company survive, a daughter of their business partner who has been so in love or rather obsessed with him wanted them to be paired up and get married. How can he say no when it’s his family is at risk? He must pay the debt and he must save their family’s honor from shame.
After a year of spending time in Japan, he comes back to manage their company. He’s still engaged and is about to get married in two weeks. His family and his fiancé’s family are busy preparing for the big wedding.
In his stay in Japan, he tried so hard to forget Key but failed miserably when all the guilt and pain are haunting him even in his dreams. He tried to act normal in front of everyone so that nobody will know that he’s been suffering much more than anyone else.
As he takes a break from work, he decided to stroll around the park near their office building. Memories of him and Key suddenly flash back in his mind. He misses him so much, how Key’s smile would make him go crazy, how Key’s embrace would make him feel relaxed, how Key’s soft lips against his will make his mind explode and how every ‘I love you’ that came out from Key would be more than enough to make his heart pound thousand times faster than it’s normal rate. He sits in a bench, trying to calm his self from breaking out. He breathes in. He breathes out. ‘Ah, I’m so sorry for leaving you like that.’ He closes his eyes as tears were threatening to fall. Then it rains.
He runs as fast as he could and struggled to find a shade when a man stood next to him and covers him with his umbrella. He turns his head beside him, seeing Minho, Key’s best friend since they were kids, staring at him intently.
“Long time no see.”

Jonghyun is invited by Minho to attend his party so there he was, standing in a corner, watching everyone else enjoy the night. Minho and Jonghyun became close friends after Jonghyun and Key became lovers. He nervously looked around, wishing to avoid a certain guy who means a lot to him.
“Are you okay?”
“Ah, yeah but it’s a bit awkward.”
“Because it’s been awhile since we saw each other hyung.”
“You’re right.”
“Oh, by the way, I need to do an important announcement now. I’ll see you later, okay?”
Jonghyun nods his head as he watched Minho make his way towards the stage. His heart skips a bit as the thought of that day would be the most heartbreaking day of his life.
“Good evening everyone. Are you enjoying the party? Yes, I’m glad to hear that. So, everyone knows that I’ve been dating for three months already, right? I want to call my best friend, my life, Kim Kibum on stage.”
Everyone’s eyes are on Key including Jonghyun. Well, Jonghyun’s eyes had been on him ever since he spotted the guy. He smiles at how stunning Key is with his suit. ‘He never fails to impress everyone. Same old Kim Kibum.’
Key walks towards the stage, standing next to Minho. They smile lovingly at each other which made Jonghyun’s heart felt like it was stabbed so many times that moment. ‘That should be me, not Minho. That should be me that is standing next to you. I should be the one holding you right now. I should be the one you love and not he but it’s my entire fault. If only I am brave enough to be selfish for once, then I should still have you in my arms. I should be in Minho’s place right now. I should be the one making you feel that he is truly loved…’
Minho glances at Jonghyun and Jonghyun just faked a smile. ‘That should be me…’
Minho turns his attention to Key and he kneels which earned squeals from the crowd. “Kibum-ah, I know we’ve been together for a short time but I really want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?”
Key stares at Minho for a second while processing what just happened and what happened in the past. He’s been broken when Jonghyun left him without informing him anything. Every night, he cries himself to sleep. Every day, he hopes that Jonghyun will come back to him. He never loses hope that Jonghyun will be back. In those days, Minho stayed by his side. Minho never fails to comfort him. He loves Jonghyun so much more than anyone else but Minho’s been there by his side. He showed him that love is worth giving a second a try when your first love turned out not so well. He realized that he should let go and move on.
Three months ago, Minho had the courage to ask him out and confess. Since Key already let go of Jonghyun, he gave Minho a chance and he’s happy that he did because Minho showed him that he’s the most important person in his life. Key realized that after all the pain he went through, god sent him Minho to make all those trouble away.
“Yes. I will marry you.”
With that, Jonghyun found himself running outside the mansion. He goes inside his car and drove off somewhere far away. He regrets it now. He regrets everything he did. ‘It was the worst decision I ever made in my entire existence in this world. I should’ve chosen Key. I should have chosen my own happiness.’ His mind wanders around as the scene of Minho telling him that he and Key are already dating crossed his mind again.
(flashback)
“Long time no see.”
“Oh, Minho! How have you been?”
“I’m doing great. How are you? Where have you been?”
Jonghyun looks at him that moment, not wanting to answer the question but with Minho’s pleading eyes, he told him everything about why he chose to leave Key.
“If you’re worrying about Key, well, that’s too late for that. I mean, hyung… we’re already… uhm, dating.”
Jonghyun’s heart was crushed by what he just heard then he realizes that maybe Minho isn’t such a bad person after all since he knows perfectly that Minho will take good care of Key. He will stay with Key no matter how hard life would be for the both of them. Minho will never let Key be miserable because Minho loves Key more than anyone else in this world.
“Ah, hyung, you and Key, I mean, you still love him right?”
“Yeah, I still love him but you are his now. As much as I want to get him back, I can’t because I’m already tied up in a situation I will forever regret.”
“I’m sorry to hear that hyung.”
“No worries. Hey Minho.”
“Yes hyung?”
“Promise me you’ll stay by his side no matter what the circumstances are. Don’t you even dare to hurt him like I did.”
“I promise hyung.”
