Little Leeteuk has always been truly mesmerized by little Heechul ever since the former met the latter. They were classmates in their kindergarten so he got the chance to meet him. He would always try to approach him after they were introduced yet he was never noticed. Little Heechul was always surrounded by the other kids at their neighborhood’s playground because he always gained attention and the other kids just like him so. Leeteuk got some friends but he always wanted little Heechul.

He always tried but he cannot just get inside Little Heechul’s world. He thought that he cannot reach him because he’s too far from him so he just distanced himself, watch this little kid from afar.

Many years had passed, these kids turned into teenagers. Leeteuk and Heechul are now eighteen. They still have the same circle of friends and same personality, Heechul being the popular guy and Leeteuk being the shy one. Heechul never showed interest to him and he thought that Heechul had always ignored him. Sometimes, Leeteuk started to drift away and he completely disregarded his feelings. Feelings that grew from a simple crush to something called first love. But no matter how many times he denies his love for him, deep inside his heart and to his best friend, Hyukjae, he just can’t hide it.

They’ve been classmates since kindergarten and Leeteuk is so lucky to at least spend half of his life with the same classroom as Heechul. Although they are always rows of seats apart, it’s totally fine as long as he can stare or glance or gaze at the mighty Heechul. ‘Why must I fall for the most popular guy?’ Leeteuk thought as he secretly glanced towards him. ‘Yah, hyung! Stop staring, he might catch you.’ Hyukjae warned yet he didn’t mind as the beautiful features of Heechul’s face is all that matters to him and that smile and those eyes that are now staring at him. ‘Wait! He’s smiling at me?’ He thought as he immediately removed his gaze at him as much as he wanted to not take off his eyes from that lovely face. He felt somewhat embarrassed that he was caught yet he ended up smiling to himself as the feeling of Heechul smiling at him made his heart flutter.

When they teacher arrived, everybody settled down and they started their lecture. But someone is spacing out, Leeteuk’s mind is just flying around their classroom. He took a good look on Heechul as how the latter is being so noisy yet when their teacher throws him some questions, he answers it brightly and straight to the point. How he loved the smart and confident Heechul is.

The class went by perfectly. Hyukjae needed to head home first as he dashed out of their classroom as soon as their teacher left. ‘Yeah, he’s going to see his Sungmin again.’ Leeteuk thought to himself as he leisurely fixes his bag. He then noticed that Heechul is still inside their room. ‘I wonder why he always stays after class.’ Then he went back to his books and bag. He was interrupted when a very familiar voice called him.

‘Jungsu-yah.’ When he turned around, he saw Heechul, smiling at him. His heart dropped because of the sudden shock. ‘W-w-w-why?’ He stammered as he locked eyes with him. ‘Uh, are you going home now?’ Heechul asked but Leeteuk just stared at him. When he sensed that he’s not going to reply, he immediately changed what’s on his mind. ‘Nevermind.’ Then he went back to his seat and waited for Leeteuk to head out first.

Leeteuk dashed out of the room as he felt that his heart is going to explode any second now. He ran away from that classroom leaving a dumbfounded Heechul. ‘I guess he doesn’t really like me.’ Heechul muttered as he watched Leeteuk from their classroom’s window. He took a deep sigh before he decided to head home. ‘Why must I wait for him if he doesn’t even like me? Oh yeah, he is my first love, that shy sometimes idiot Park Jungsu.’

---

As soon as he arrived in their house, Leeteuk sat in front of their front door and tried to have his normal breathing back. He stared at space and instantly dialed a number on his phone. He waited patiently for that someone to pick it up as he is so excited to ask his best friend’s advice. ‘Come Hyukkie, pick it up!’ After some more rings, the other line answered. ‘He-‘

‘Hyukkie-ah! You won’t believe this! Heechul did talk to me awhile ago! He asked me if I will be going or heading home but I was too stunned by his presence. His smile, he smiled at me! Until now my heart is beating fast. He did talk to me for the first time!’ Leeteuk waited for Hyukjae to reply but the other line just kept quiet so he decided to go on with his story. ‘You know I’ve been trying to be friends with him ever since we’re six but whenever I wanted to give up, he will show up, look at me or smile at me even for just three seconds. I wish he will talk to me once again because I really wanted to tell him how much I admire him, how much I’ve grown to love him. Ah! Hyukkie? Are you still there? Hyukkie?’

‘Uh, this isn’t Hyukkie.’ Leeteuk froze when he heard the voice, the really familiar voice.

‘W-w-who is this?’ He asked not wanting to hear the name of the person he is expecting to hear.

‘I am the person you wished to talk to because you really wanted to tell me how much you admire me and how much you’ve grown to love me.’ Heechul confidently stated as his lips curved in a wide smile. The guy he always watched from afar, the guy he always wanted to be right beside him, the guy he always wanted walk home with, the guy he had loved so much, the Park Jungsu is also in love with him. ‘Yah, don’t hang up or I will go to your house and kill you. Listen carefully to what I am going to say, Jungsu-yah, don’t you even dare to give me secret glances from now on. I want you to always stay by my side, okay?’

‘W-w-what?’ Leeteuk asked with confusion and nervousness in his tone.

‘Aish, quit stuttering. I love you and if it doesn’t register in your mind, I will always remind you that I love you starting today.’

Leeteuk can’t help but be surprised. He heard it right, right? ‘You aren’t playing with me right? You mean it right? Why am I even thinking of these things anyway?’ Leeteuk started asking questions and blabbered somethings that Heechul thought he doubts his feelings for him.

This kid from kindergarten, he always noticed him. Like what Leeteuk did, Heechul always thought that he won’t fit in inside Leeteuk’s peaceful world so he distanced himself and just watched the kid from afar. He tried to be friends with him yet there is something inside him that says they aren’t compatible and Leeteuk might hate him for being him, the popular, talkative Heechul he is. Now, knowing that the adorable kid he had admired before had always been in love with him, he cannot help but to be overly happy.

He showed up in front of Leeteuk who is still talking nonsense over the phone. He pulled him up to give him an embrace. He can sense the uneasy guy he’s hugging. He wanted to assure him that everything he just said is true. ‘How can you not believe me?’ He whispered to him, ‘Yah, stop doubting me. I love you and I mean it.’ Leeteuk gave in as he hugged him back tighter. His heart maybe beating insanely at the moment but his mind is already calmed. He loves him too. He looked at Heechul’s eyes closely. ‘Thanked God, you love me too.’ Then he closed the gap between the two of them. Heechul just smiled as he deepened the kiss.

‘Thanked God you are thinking of me too much that you dialed my number instead of Hyukjae.’

‘Yah, stop teasing.’

‘I don’t want you to…’

‘Hmm?’

‘I don’t want you to stop thinking of me.’

‘I promise I won’t.’
