I'm seeing variations of this all over my flist and damn, it does not look good. I'm not sure what will be happening in Canada, but I wouldn't be surprised if we soon follow the US lead.

OMG, I totally hear you. It's pretty stupid to blame the fact that people d/l shows and such for the reason that movie revenues are in the dumps. I mean, come on, everything is in the dumps these days! I'm unemployed, with rapidly dwindling savings and health insurance that is going to expire at the end of April, so why the frell would I blow close to ten bucks just to go to a movie? I haven't done that since Harry Potter 6.

You're right -- d/l-ing is another method of spreading the word about stuff. I ended up watching all of the fourth series of The Tudors online, intending to just leave it at that, but it was so awesome that I went ahead and bought it. It's the same with Merlin. I watch them online, but when the DVDs make it across the Pond, I snatch them up (the one instance where I throw my current financial situation out the window).

Feel free to vent, hon. ;) I am sitting here nodding and waving my banner in total agreement.

The world is run by morons, I swear.
