Day 02. Your Favorite Movie

*shifty, guilty look* Some people might get mad at me, but it’s McLintock!, with John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara. I know the treatment of women in it is rather misogynistic, but it’s still a fun, jaunty story that I’ve loved ever since I was a kid. John Wayne in general evokes fond memories for me, as when I was little I’d sit with my parents and watch his movies, even getting to stay up past my bedtime on occasion to do it. A particularly classical family moment was when I was about five or six and I turned and asked my parents, “Which one’s John and which one’s Wayne?” That’s a story that gets told over and over again at the family gatherings.
