Jack had long given up railing over the unfairness of the world, but even this struck him. Vala was a survivor. She'd gone through so much, made it through two full-scale wars, only to end up a Goa'uld host for a second time and die because of it.

Oh, God, I think I kind of hate you right now. (Not really!)

This is good, but, damn.

Today must be Depressing Fic Day or something, because Lizzie, Kate, and John are sniping at each other on my monitor.

Heh, I'm glad you liked it. I was a little nervous about this because it was so different than what I initially had in mind. The first idea was like pulling teeth, so I went in a completely different direction and this was the result.

Ooh, I never thought about how Teyla would reverence admire Daniel for his Ancient-y stint! Awesome!

(yeah, 'reverence' is a little too strong a word in the wrong direction - LOL)

I'll try and read some of these others if I get a chance. For now, though, it's back to work...

Yeah, I think that even though Teyla's eyes have been opened somewhat by the stunt Helia and the other non-Ascended Ancients pulled back in The Return, a lifetime of belief in the goodness of the Ancestors can't be completely undone by just that. So yeah, I think Daniel would catch her attention. :)
