Oh I definitely expected Dumbledore to buy the farm in book 6. I wasn't expecting Snape to use an unforgivable curse on him though. (And I wouldn't be putting all that on my lj, but if someone is reading this, they've already seen all the stuff you other people put on here, so there's not much point to restraining myself.) I'm sure I was missing some obvious reason that Voldemort couldn't be the Half-Blood Prince, but I was disturbed most of the book by Harry being too stupid to realize that that's who it was. Except that's who it wasn't. So yeah. And I'm racking (wracking? raquing?) my brain for who RAB is, but I seem to be as clueless as Harry was to who the HBP was

I though the identity of the Half-Blood Price was obvious from about chapter 10 on . . .
And Dumbledore is not the type to beg for his life. We've known since book 1 that he's not afraid to die. So what was it he was pleading with Snape to do? I don't for a minute buy that Snape is really working for Moldy Voldie after all.
*has read all comments, including the one you left me*
OK, first of all, Snape is not evil. He did exactly what Dumbledore told him to do. Hence his not capturing/killing Harry shortly thereafter and his rage at being accused of cowardice. He had to take the vow in order to allay (or at least put a hold on) Bellatrix's suspicions. Afterward, he would have immediately contacted Dumbledore with an update, at which point our dear, altruistic, and utterly pragmatic headmaster would have said something to the effect of 'You gotta do what you gotta do. But don't, under any circumstances allow Draco to commit murder.' [This leads me to believe that Draco will redeem himself in the last book, but that's just my opinion.] Do you honestly think that Dumbledore would ever plead for his own life, no matter what his physical or emotional state? Death is just the next great adventure, remember. He was begging Snape to please kill him, and quickly before Draco can work up the nerve or before the other DEs get impatient and jump in on the party. So

good thinking lol. I hadn't thought of some of those things. I agree with the comment about knowing it was snape though fairly early on. The comment about not pleading with his life I definitely beleive you on now that I think about it. It's been a long time since reading the first books though and honestly I'm not a self proclaimed fan so most of my memory from the first books have been kinda lost =] I whole heartedly agree that there still is a chance for snape to redeem himself, yet there always is the chance he's not. I mean either way he's a uber spy lol, for dumbledore or voldemort. I guess we'll find out someday.

Harry is the last Horcrux. What this means as far as whether or not he will be breathing at the end of the series, we'll just have to wait and see.
