I have come to realization that I am vastly different in my entertainment and art viewing. I’m a deconstructionalist; I don’t bother reading the "behind the scenes" or "interviews" or "propaganda" because it’s unimportant to the piece itself. I am interested in digesting and dissecting the entertainment or art, not discussing who’s dating who, who said what backstage or who fucked up in an interview

I am also tired of hearing fans whine when the artists/creators do not do what the fan wants.
Yes, that goes for me too. It really gets on my tits, because I know that these people will never be happy, no matter what the creators do. Even if they were given all the things they say they want on a silver platter, they'd find something else to complain about. Probably the platter. They's want gold instead of silver.
So it boils down to this - they whine, because they like whining. And that's just a colossal pain in the balls for those of us who are trying to get through life with a smile on our faces.
How can anyone like whining? Maybe if I could understand, I wouldn't be so put off. But isn't there enough misery in the world, floods, famine, death, taxes, etc., that adding to it over art/entertainment just seems petty and selfish to me.
Plus, it goes back to that fire/hand thing. If it burns, don't touch it, stupid.
I think all I care about is seeing shows where the characters I like get good dialogue and good actors to play off of, so that I don't die of boredom before the hour is up. :P
Last night's season ender of Bones (won't spoil you) was entertaining and surprising because I had no idea where they were going with it until the last couple of minutes. And then I was kinda floored. And I don't get that from a show very often nowadays.
The first minutes pissed me off because I knew it couldn't be what it was and yet it went on for awhile.
But hey, I enjoyed, and that's all I want from a show.
By the way, Ol' short and pretty' has a new project in the UK (so much for staying close to the kids) and it's secret until the ink dries....I'm hoping it's the new UK Law and Order type show, being done by one of the Torchwood producers, or is it DW....I'm bad with names.
Could be something else, tho'. I don't care as long as I get to somehow see it and it's worth my time.
It was unintentionally clever of him/his management to skate right around that writer's strike. It hardly affected him at all. I think his stint at Without a Trace was chopped short, but that last scene his character did was the best of all, and showed what he can do with a complicated character. I mean, I didn't know much about the character until he showed 'quietly pissed the hell off' so well. With Stubble. LOL.
But he hopped off to film Torchwood and whatever else, and missed the whole strike. Unless it starts up again, and hey, he'll be over there again. :P

The problem is, not everyone on Earth is gone... only the people you'd like to talk to.:(

Maybe ol' Short and Pretty is taking his kids with him. Hey, with the current exchange rate, he has to go. He can make double over there.

This is true. It's all about the monies. *sigh*
