I tend to get these odd ideas. Something I have always considered doing in joining the military. Today I got something in the mail about the Navy's nurse recruitment program. I want to do it. I'd have to get into shape and all that kinda stuff before i even considered it, but it sounds interesting. I don't know I am thinking I am utterly insane. I ( Read more... )

I think you should do it! I've got quite a few friends who are in the navy and they're all happy with it. You'll get to visit cool places, get an awesome signing bonus, you'll get to use the GI bill to go to college for free, and when you're living on the base, a lot of stuff is paid for for you, so most of your paychecks are just extra money. I actually thought about joining the Navy, but I'm a slacker and am not about the whole boot camp idea. Another bonus....they'll pay for all your nurse school stuff, so once you get out of the Navy, you've got all the training you need and can just slide into a new well-paying job.

The thingie in the mail told me they would pay me up to $500 a month while im in my last two years of school and then once i graduated I would join up and job right out of college and all that fun stuff. I think it would be an interesting expericence before grad school and what not. Bad side is I need to lose about 100lbs.

That sounds really cool, you should totally check into it.....and I found the 20 pounds you lost...it's now on my thighs and tummy.

Yeah as I said before I am ready to get into nursing school I'll check further into it. My life is so boring i need to spice it up.

I've heard the Navy's nursing program is excellent. It would be an awesome experience for you. I would totally do it if I were in your shoes.

Yeah, right now it sounds really really interesting. I just have to lose a lot of weight and get into shape in order to do it. I am trying to lose weight anyways so I am just going to step it up to the next level. I don't know I kind of mentioned it to my mom and she just kind of snortted and laughed because she knows I don't have the disaplin for it. I also don't have the money for a good nursing school. It is something I probably will look into.
