"What if college can't?" Rinoa asked, wriggling impatiently. The dress really needed to be off. She couldn't reach the top of the zipper and probably shouldn't try to take it off in the middle of the hallway, either.
When the door finally opened, that seemed like the perfect opportunity to drag him inside and maul him.
"I think I want to go," she said. "For real. Not just saying it or getting bored and liking the idea but really wanting to go. Maybe."
She couldn't reach her zipper. Could he? She'd get his jacket. Fair was fair.
"Then go," Squall told her, as he shut the door behind them and reached for her zipper. "Go to college, get a degree, be whatever you want. There's probably paperwork you need to fill out. An application and stuff."
The zipper finally came down, and he was ready to be done talking about college. He nibbled at her neck, trying to convince her that she was done talking about it, too.
The dress was sliding off, and that was good, because that meant his hands were on her, and that was even better, although --
"But I need you." And it came out all jumbled and panicky. "I mean not just for us but I do, for us, but I mean, as my Knight, so I don't go crazy and burn down the college the first time something goes wrong. Because then I'll panic and end the world and that's not good and you're supposed to keep me from doing that. So you can't just --"
It might have been a good idea to have this talk when more clothes were on. Maybe.
