Animals need help...

I love that site... I always get to it through Care2.com Recently someone Myspaced me something about pitbulls that was so sad it made me cry, and I went to thepetitionsite.com and signed every petition involving pitbulls... and I am actually afraid of pitbulls! But I just couldn't stand the thought of ALL pitbulls EVERYWHERE being put to sleep just because of what a handful of them did! :(
But do you think those petitions really work or go anywhere? I've heard that they don't. I hope they do!

I sign a variety of animal/environmental ones. Some more social/civil liberties ones (Like the foolish law that allows Pharmacists not to fill a prescription if it is against their religion). I also take action for groups like WWF, Care2, NRDC, etc.. I saw the one you speak of. There are many there which are quite sad. A lot regarding idiot hillbillies shooting dogs. I do think petitions can work. I know some have truly worked. Most of the problems of this world are due to the ignorance/arrogance of humanity. Most people do not know/understand the importance of certain things. Many don't want to bother or fail to think (This is why many people voted for Bush despite the laundry list of awful things he is responsible for). Sometimes things like this can open people's eyes. Unfortunately, there are people out there who really don't care about anyone but themselves. I don't want to be cynical and/or think that most of humanity is that selfish. It can be hard, but I am trying to have more faith in our species.
