Nobody's home...(Also known as the ballad of I <3 ellipses)

You ever just feel like your brain is broken, and no matter what you do you can't possibly express yourself the way you used to? I like to think that it's mommy brain, but I've had this brain for a while now. It scares me how my brain doesn't seem to work anymore, like it's clouded with a sludge and all I can do is admire the writer that I used to ( Read more... )

I'm a stream-of-consciousness writer. I always have Rob read my papers ahead of time so he can fix my crazy. What are you researching? Are you in grad school?

I'm in the admissions process....I have a 20 page paper due on Feb. 1st as part of my application to the Art Institute....I'm researching vision vs process in art making and how we teach art vs how we as artists learn....its all very convoluted and I'm having trouble forming cohesive thoughts....

I truly feel that way most of the time myself. I feel lucky most days to be able to put 2 coherant sentances together. I was never an extrodinarily good writer but I could at least express what I was thinking. Since having kids...it's all I can do to realize that I AM Thinking...which once you have kids happens on such a different level than it used to. Don't sweat it though...maybe it will come back as they get older and we have to help them with harder homework :)

UGH Harder Homework *shudder* I fear the day Claire gets a bunch of math...I'm not a math girl.

Thanks for the encouragement though, it's nice to know I'm not alone in this.

How much wrtiing have you done lately? Like anything else it is a skill and skills are kept sharp by practicing them; if you don't use them, they start to recede. :)

I write plenty for my graduate program. I just don't take any time to write creatively anymore.

Mph. I noticed.
