Ned Weeks was an outspoken AIDS activist long before Felix got sick. He was brutal to friends and foe alike well before the lesion showed up on Felix's foot. In fact, if there's a flaw in TNH it's that we don't see the connection between his activism and Felix's illness.

I agree. Ned was always outspoken, and I didn't really see a ramp up in that after Felix got sick because he was always very committed to the cause. I think Ned was more emotional about it, but his actual outspoken-ness was roughly the same.

Yeah, I had the same reaction. The article was really brief and lacked in the accuracy department. The picture is absolutely stunning.
