That was beautiful. It was bittersweet that he sang a lullaby to Theo (and of course it would be in French) while wishing he could have had that with Kate. I loved how he was finally able to let his emotions go, and that Peter and Diana were both able to provide him with safety and comfort.

I love showing Neal's language skills whenever I can (and it usually manifests in song, oddly enough). I'm so glad you liked it - especially that it was Diana and Peter who provided him with comfort. Thank you so much!

As others have said, the image of Neal sleeping with the baby on his chest, then waking in utter protective mode, breaks me.

Thank you! Neal in protective mode is such a interesting thing - I tend to write him as the protectee instead of the protector, but I like to switch it up every now and again.

What lovely story. Love how Diana trusts Neal with Theo. Great scene with Neal breaking down and Peter being there for him. : )

Thank you! Diana was a little hesitant, but in the end, I think she knew that Neal wouldn't hurt Theo (and him trying to protect the baby only solidified that). I just love Neal breaking down and Peter comforting him - it never gets old for me. :D

Oh wow, this was lovely. Poor, poor Neal! I love his interactions with Theo, the scene where he breaks down is just so, so good *hugs him* and the ending is great. *pets them all*

This was beautiful. So full of love. As others have said I love the image of Neal sleeping with Theo on his chest. And Neal singing to him. I especially like the touch on the head from Diana at the end. I so love those little touches like that.

Thank you! I really love the little touches too - I try to add them whenever they feel appropriate, and that was a moment between Neal and Diana where she was thanking him for taking care of her son and for being there. She cares about him, as much as she gets frustrated and annoyed with him, and I have such a soft spot for their relationship.
