I keep trying to come up with a clever response to touch upon your song choices and stuff, but I can't. I'm too fascinated by how you chose your songs, and what good taste in music you have.

As for singing... I was classically trained for many years, aspired to go into Opera, kinda got derailed by musical theatre. I am currently mostly focusing on cultivating a sort of loungey sound in the vein of Regina Spektor or Sarah Slean. Though, while I'm doing that on my own time, in vocal lessons I'm currently focusing on broadway belt with a very strong leaning toward Sondheim's work. So basically, I'm all over the map?

I was also classically trained, though I stopped before I got to college. And yes, yes, yes, opera. How I love thee. I was never meant for opera though. My voice is fairly powerful by normal people standards, but it's nothing by operatic standards. I've got a decent range, but again, for opera, no. These days I sing in choir and occasionally allow people to talk me into going for solos. I'm probably best at classical/artsong, though I've been getting better at other things. I'm a soprano, and I'm best at singing descants, there's a limit as to what I'm going to be amazing on, y'know? :D

Also, SONDHEIM LOVE. "Losing My Mind" is one of the greatest songs ever, swear to God.
