Today included a not so nice wake up call. My dog had a stroke. My father, ever the cautious one do to his paramedic work, woke me up telling me to play with her because they were probably going to put her down

"Working breed" isn't as important as the size of breed and the breed itself -- I mean, terriers are a working breed (I think), but they're small, so they live much longer than a larger non-working breed. Size is what matters for doggy lifespans

Mmm, for a Husky, I suppose is what she meant. Though I did some more research and found that they normally live as much as 15 years. That and all she ended up with was a bunch more meds, and a crazy day.

=/ Poor thing. Although I'm sure she's getting excessive amounts of love and care from you guys, and, as you said, she's doing incredibly well for a dog of her age/size.
