I think that what it is, is that people are so fed up with the 8 years of chaos that the Bush administration has caused, that actors or notable people that normally wouldn't have endorsed candidates or done political announcements before, are now agreeing to do it, because I think every single person is hungry for change, and the consensus is that McCain would be like re-electing Bush all over again, even most Republicans I know believe this too.
Also there are so many people that are led by t.v...that I am sure they believe that it is the right thing that they are doing by going on t.v. and making an endorsement. I think it was brave of John Cusack to do this spot, personally...especially when the wrong move can ruin so many people's careers these days, with all of the media that is available now.
