Whilst the loss of two days hasn't been particularly noticeable in terms of anything here (with the exception, apparently, of the lake), I was thinking about a few things ( Read more... )

Who gave any of them the authority to create a system of laws?

No one here has any authority. Who decided that they couldn't? Are you saying that in the case of a child being murdered, there should be no punishment for the murderer?

The punishment should be administered by those close to the child being murdered. Interfering in others' affairs only leads to more bloodshed.

I can't help but wonder how long you have been here if this is the view you hold. Leaving it to those 'closest' has resulted in avoidable bloodshed. Not to mention, there's always a chance that what is perceived is not what has happened.

Recent events have shown that more than perfectly.

I've been out of the loop due to my stay at the clinic, but it wouldn't surprise me if Wright and Edgeworth had already begun working on something.

Between those two, something can get done.

Ha..!

That being said, it's hard to contend with weird powers, don't you think? You try prosecuting a man capable of shooting lasers from his eyes. 'Course, I can do it.

'Between those two'? You think that something that affects the entirety of this place should be decided by just two people?

If something's believed to be impossible, it will be impossible. Likewise, if you believe something is possible, you have a chance of succeeding.

Besides, I don't prosecute. I defend.

Are there a lot of lawyers here? You make it sound like that's the case.

There's four that I'm personally aware of, including myself.

Really? The only ones I knew of were Mr. Wright and myself, and maybe that other man that spoke to me.

That's seems an awful lot for just one place.

'Maybe that other man'?

It does seem like a lot, yes.
