This was remarkable! It could have been so corny, but it was handled with great delicacy. You gave these girls their own personalities and teenage angst which offset all the hidden island angst. It was also so sad, especially Aaron's even less than normal adolescence and Ji and Clem’s apparent abandonment. I laughed at stepfather Sayid's advice! Excellent work.

Thank you so much! I'm always afraid when I attempt to write about the second generation that it will come across as cheesy and contrived. So I'm really glad it didn't come off that way.

The potential relationship between Clementine and Kate really gets to me too. I feel like Clementine represents what Sawyer rejected from Kate. It kind of seemed like she wanted his baby in Eggtown (which is a shitty episode nonetheless...but you know...it's still canon unfortunately). So having to face his child. I think that will kind of tear her apart slowly.

Kate and Jack are still going at it.

They'll be doing that until one of them dies in my opinion. Jack doesn't let things go and Kate is fickle. Plus Sawyer will always be lingering in the background while it all unfolds. That's what I love about the triangle. It works so well.

You know, when I read your Aaron, the way he talks about Kate, it reminds of that little child calling for his fake mommy and I feel everything is alright in the world.I hold out hope that even if Kate keeps Aaron until he's grown up, she'll still suffer the consequences for having done so. Aaron's definitely going to grow up to be a smart ass with Kate as a mother ( ... )

OMG, I LOVED THIS! Especially Clementine; I loved her characterization. She just felt so... real, so well-fleshed out. I love her dialogue and interactions with Ji Yeon; they provide a nice contrast between each other. It's so enjoyable to read. It was really fun to read Aaron's updates for Clementine about Kate and Jack and "the creepy British dude." I adored seeing the Losties -- Sayid, Sun, Kate, a little bit of Sawyer -- through the kids' eyes. The overall tone of the story was such a good mix of melancholy, longing, humor, and unrelenting verity.

This was wonderful.

Clementine is the most intriguing next generation character for me because it could be Sawyer's personality manifested in a little girl.

Thank you so much for the wonderful comment! I'm glad you enjoyed this :)

I loved all the little throwbacks to the past with the original 815ers. Both Clementine's and Ji Yeon's characters felt spot on, and I really liked their sorta kinda friendship. Great work!

I'm usually not a reader of 'the-next-generation'-fics, but I'm very glad I gave this a try. This is gorgeous (and not cheesy at all)! Your take on the 'old' characters (your Kate is awesome, and the Sayid part is great, too!) and on the girls is amazing. You really gave them their own personalities, and I especially love Clementine in this. Great work!

Thanks so much! My favorite part of next generation fics is trying to craft their personalities without it coming out cheesy so I'm really glad it turned out that way, and I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)
