Angela tried to wait for Melou to get back from training, but with the horseback riding and swimming the day before, she was terribly hungry

The kitchens are fairly quiet, just a few girls going about thier business. No one, it seems, has really noticed Angela, or been bothered enough to say anything.
Except for one short, very pretty girl with dark blonde hair. If looks could kill, Angie'd be in serious trouble.
"Aye." It's her only response for a moment. He doesn't usually tell them about Rhoslyn, certainly not by name. He also doesn't bring them home with him.
"Ye should know where ye stand, is all. He ain't likely to tell ye."
The corner of Angela's mouth lifted imperceptibly. If it was true, that was fine. If it was true, then it was heartbreaking, but it had been a good 'game'.
But dammit, Angela is pissed.
"Will it?" she asks, a rather insolent tone to her voice. The sort that really pisses her mother off.
"Just doin' you a favour, really, since it seems yer not able to figger it out yerself." She smiles, just as icily. "After all, 'm not the one who'll be leavin'."
Angela makes no response or answer, just continues eating until she's done, then scrupulously cleans up after herself, even folding up the rag and leaving it.
And then she goes out to the river, where she hides herself and cries all she wants.

It might be noted that the quieter Angela's voice gets...the angrier she is.
And she might look beautiful when she's angry, but it isn't a good feeling.

Briallen's voice is quite firm. She's seen it before.
"I'm the only one he keeps comin' back to and that's the way it'll be stayin'."

Overgrown, is she? Angela stands up, hands on her hips. "Tell me, do you always have such discussions with all of Melou's girls?"
Reply
"See, most girls here know how it works. He ain't brought a stray home afore now."

"So...why are you so very worried, then? Why interrupt my breakfast just to make that point? It's nothing to you, after all."

She lifts her chin, defiantly. Granted it likely doesn't have the desired effect, being nearly a foot shorter, but it's there nonetheless.
"This ain't yer home, and ye don't belong here."

Angela sits down. She's getting rather tired of the conversation. Plus, she is hungry.
She picks up her bread and begins to eat.
It's hard to swallow past the lump in her throat, but she manages.

She tosses a rag beside Angie's seat and then saunters back to the kitchens, smug smile still in place.
