RL with Azula [backdated two days after Azula's birthday]

It was easy to get to where Azula was staying, now that she understood her powers a little more. She made sure to bring some money -- and hoped it would easily equate into whatever currency that world used.

She couldn't believe it-- being on a different world? Impossible! It felt like she had traveled to the other side of the world. Her heart was ( Read more... )

Luckily, Azula was expecting Rinoa. She sat out on the balcony of her hotel suite, watching the sidewalk and entrance below. Spotting her didn't take long-- although Rinoa's appearance and clothing wasn't outlandish for Earth, the bouncy and excitable girl still stood out against the drab office workers and tired college students that populated the streets.

Leaning forward over the railing so her voice would carry, Azula called out. "Up here. Room 725. Just take the elevator."

... Hopefully she knew what an elevator was.

"Oh! Azula!!" Rinoa waved from down below, with a big smile on her face, whether it was noticeable or not. "Okay, I'll be right up!"

Rinoa dashed inside, and into the elevator, she fumbled with the buttons out of excitement- almost bouncing in her wait. When she got up to the seventh floor she walked down the hall, looking for 725.

She hummed along the way, and when she found the room, she knocked on the door, her arms behind her back as she swayed.

Azula stretched up on her tip-toes to peer through the peep hole before opening the door. It wasn't like she was expecting anyone but Rinoa, but given the number of people who had come here to bother or attack her in the past, she had developed a good deal of what she considered to be healthy paranoia.

Satisfied that it was Rinoa-- and only Rinoa-- knocking, she unlocked and opened the door, then stepped back worldlessly to let her in.

Rinoa made a small questioning noise before peering into the room, a little bag in her hand. She stepped in, toes pointing almost weightlessly as she stepped.

"How are you, Azula?" the girl seemed a tad nervous at first- simply because of Azula's stand offish nature (what seemed to be, perhaps? She was still feeling it out) but quickly shook it. It wasn't her nature to be so quiet around new company, anyway. "Happy birthday! Well, belatedly, I guess!" she leaned in to give the girl a hug before quickly stepping back.

"What a place! It's lovely." her face held a soft but big smile. Warm and sincere. It took a lot for her not to just laugh out of the excitement she had.
