HELLO FIC I NEVER KNEW I NEEDED BUT TOTALLY DID have i mentioned that you're my new favorite person? YOU ARE.

On the carriage ride back to the institute, Jem quotes his favorite parts back to her, keeping her laughter steady. - this was just - really sweet, i don't even know, it made me want to cry because it was lovely. also, because at the end of Prince tessa seemed so - like, it was like it was such a ~sacrifice~ to be with jem, understandably because that's how one would feel, then, but MY ACHING SOUL NEEDED TO REMEMBER THAT JEM MAKES HER SO HAPPY.

and just -

oh my god everything about this is perfect beautiful brilliant etc.

....except the second sentence. 'principal' should be 'principle' - dratted homophones and all.

(edit: another homophone - Even Jem's pendant is bound to be a welcome site - 'sight'. PS ILU AND ALSO WILLY WHO SHAKES A SPEAR.)

And yes, precisely! To my thinking, it was a sacrifice because Tessa wasn't ready to choose. She loves both Jem and Will, and if she had "chosen" Will over Jem, she would still be in this turmoil regardless. Will excites her and drives her mad, but Jem does make her happy.

This is the part where I have fun with angst all over again because with their engagement known, Will can see for himself how Jem affects Tessa, and it just drives the knife in deeper.

THANK YOU for this lovely, lovely review. Hearing what you liked best in the story, what made you think, and ticked your fancy, is just the most thrilling thing for me.

this is such a wonderful fic - completely in character and realistic. i love jem and tessa, and it's interesting to see will's point of view here. like i said, completely believable.
