Damn. Oh man, I love you for making me love this pairing, and more than that (because I already do like this pairing) for making me believe in this pairing as both something plausible and something good for Tim. I'm a huge Dick/Tim fangirl, but it's for the slash the way that Dick is good for Tim - because he's patient with Tim, because he reminds Tim he's human also, because he understands Tim, because he offers a balance to Tim's inherent neurosis. And you've showed me that Tam is all of that for Tim as well, with the added bonus -to me- that she's more plausible and appropriate for Tim (I'm a big fan of old-fashioned guy-takes-care-of-girl-physically-who-takes-care-of-guy-emotionally). So yeah, I loved this, I loved that she acknolwedged that Tim's not entirely comfortable with sexual situations, but that he's willing and has been thinking about it and is ready with her ♥

Oh, man... I'm so flattered by all this. Explaining how it reflects your otp, and what makes Tim/Tam work for you as a pairing... d'awww. *hugs*

I kind of get the impression that Tim also likes those romantic notions of being able to protect his fair lady, but acknowledges that he'd need someone way-emotionally strong to handle his life. But yes, I love exploring how that balance could occur, and am just having fun in this shiny shipping sandbox. So thanks for playing with me. ^_^

Yeah, there we go, you described that way better than I did: 'protect his fair lady'. I definitely agree, I think Tim would definitely LIKE to dote on his girlfriend/wife. Honestly (not to go into that whole debate) but I actually see Tim more naturally heterosexual, it's just that the bonds he has with Dick and Kon are so strong that I can see him being in a relationship with them as well. Or, my favorite, him being asexual. But so yeah, I agree with the protecting his fair lady, but she'd definitely have to be able to handle all the mess that is him and his life. Tam would be able to for sure- she's already proved that she can, while being freaked out under pressure just as anyone would when faced with ninjas (lol at your icon), not break under it, and is able to take it all in stride. And she's understanding enough to really get that Tim... has a lot of issues, and a relatiomship with him will be difficult, cause he's the ultimate married-to-his-work type, plus all his neurosis and tragedies, lol ( ... )

When it comes to Tim, you can always trust me to have lots and lots of thoughts, whether it be on how he sees girls specifically or how he is about intimacy in general.

But Tam... ah, Tam. I love how she's a character who sees Tim as he is now, without the knowledge of his past self, and that she sees him separate from his family. She's not drawing comparisons to any other robins with Tim; she's not even drawing comparisons to how happy/geeky/whatever Tim used to be before he had so much death in his life. Tim has a clean slate with her, and she really appreciates him as an individual.

She sees his sadness, underlying anger, and secrecy as things that just are about him (unlike his friends and family, who are largely just waiting for these newer traits to go away). And she's privy to these things because she's observant enough to recognize what she sees. And Tim's pretty much down with observant. It's practically his middle name. And he gets to rescue her on top of everything else. Actually save her on a somewhat regular basis, ( ... )
