Real life is depressingly real right now. As a result, I'm really craving some fandom jabber in my inbox. So I have a request for all you guys...

Disney! - I'm not really the carry-me-off-into-the-sunset type, but I love to meet Belle's Beast. We could talk about books.

Red Robin - This isn't recent, but I will never stop being happy that Tim worked out the secret by himself. Now that's a *real* obsessed fanboy!!

He's a fascinating guy, that beast.

I love how far that boy's come... from being a weensy little Timmy with his camera to being the guy in front of flashing lights pulling aaalll the strings.

Hunger Games: I love Katniss' perception of the prep team - silly and self-involved but clueless to the horrors around them, and ultimately harmless.

Disney: Flynn Rider or John Smith.

Percy Jackson: Annabeth vs. the Sphynx in the 4th book. I mostly love that scene for its relevance to modern teaching methods, but also because it's such a brilliant scene for Annabeth - she could have just answered the questions and walked away but she just had to question the Sphynx's methods because she's awesome like that.

Twilight: most under-rated Cullen is definitely Esme. She has an amazing backstory, but it goes completely unmentioned and she hardly has any scenes compared to the others.

MI/ID: Clary Fray - started off a bit Mary Sue-ish but eventually I started to really like her. Jem - I found him a bit dull tbh, but his story is enough for me to sympathise with him and he's a genuine gentleman and a good friend.

Hmmm... why John Smith, pray tell? He's a character I haven't contemplated in a while...

I admit that I didn't consider Esme too much while reading the books, but I loved the actress who played her in the movie. She just had such a loving, huggable mom vibe going on... Yes. She deserves more love.

I was curious because City of Bones, Ashes, and Glass all kind of happened in one gigantic blur for me and some things are more memorable than others. I remembered that I liked Clary, but didn't remember too much about her. Unlike Jace or Simon who always remained very clearly defined in my head.

Well, Pocahontas was my favourite Disney movie as a kid, but I also really like that unlike a lot of the Disney princes (I'm ignoring the fact that technically he's not a prince here), he went through a learning curve and had just as important a role in the story as she did. And I love that their story didn't end in the regular happily ever after. Plus, I loved his hair. XD

Yeah, I read all 3 in about a week and I felt the same way about her throughout the whole of the first book and a bit into the second too. I think it was only after Clare introduced new points-of-view that I really began to get a feel for her character.

Wow. That's a very good point. The guy not only has to play a huge part in the story, but has to change his entire world-view in the beginning of the story to even play that part. Hadn't thought about that before. I have always been with ya on the hair, though. As for the ending... I had mixed feelings. I generally enjoy happy endings in my disney movies, but much better her saying farewell to him at the ship than acknowledging everything that happened in the sequel. I actually dreamed LAST NIGHT (meaning, while I had your comment on the brain) that there was a third movie that ignored history completely and had her get back with Smith. I knew I was dreaming, but I wasn't exactly in a hurry to wake up. (Though I suspect it had more to do with mentally righting a travesty than weaving a romance ( ... )

Red Robin: EVERYTHING. Every last bit of everything. Including telling Azrael that the Sword of Sin tickles.

Hunger Games: I mostly feel sad for the prep team. They had no idea what to do when life got too real for them.

Disney: The Beast. He seemed to actually care about Belle's brain as much as her beauty.

Twilight: Jasper. He is amazingly badass, and gets precious few moments to really shine.

Star Wars: "Tell your sister... you were right."

It was an interesting issue. The subject of religion and faith almost never comes up with Tim as a character, but I felt like we got a very believable glimpse into his background and his current state of mind. And it really is so Tim that he wished he had faith since that would have helped make the mission easier. Oh, Tim.

HG: The same. One thing I really liked about the glimpses we had of the prep team was the prejudice they were about to face as a whole. That Katniss got to know and understand how they weren't automatically cruel, but folks in district 13 and elsewhere would have no problem treating them like they were fully responsible for the games.

Red Robin - Haven't kept up lately but I think it was pretty awesome that he went halfway around the world and almost got killed multiple times just to prove that Bruce was alive. That and the fact that he basically outsmarted Ra's al Ghul

Loved that he totally stole Bruce's title of "The Detective". I squeed when Ra's used the phrase and I realized that it was now a reference to Tim. <3

OK - Disney prince - Philip. An OG he is! The first one to have an actual love story, plot, and personality! He's a gentleman, he is a badass, and has a sense of humor.

Narnia film - Magician's Nephew is next (One of my favs), and I really hope they cast Digory and Polly well. Love Digory!

Star Wars - Vader moment? Lack of faith disturbing is bar none the best!

Somebody who shares my love of Philip! Whee! It was always a point of annoyance for me that Snow White and Cinderella were supposed to be such romantic movies, but their princes were total cardboard compared to Philip! "Father, you're living in the past! This is the 14th century..." Lol.

Magician's Nephew is the one Narnia book I haven't cracked. Never got further than one chapter into the thing 'cause I got bored and distracted (but I was a lot younger at the time. I basically opened it and was all "No Pevensies? Screw this."). So, I'm gonna have to read it sometime between now and then.

*Grins a mile wide at your choice of Vader moment*
