I really loved the feel of the piece, and how well it deals with the emotions that don't go away just because the crisis has been fixed.
Thanks for sharing this!

Also, the "last lesson she takes from Tim for awhile", well, it makes me wonder when she'll start taking lessons again...

Tam is Lucius's very competent and rather observant younger daughter. She and Tim have been "engaged" for a while as part of a cover-story to hide stuff from Vicky Vale, and the subtext/flirtation has been ridiculously fun.
Your comment on the lessons Cassie might take from Tim has my brain toying around with another plot-bunny. Recent issues of Red Robin have been dealing with the Unternet--kind of like the Matrix for the amusement of supervillains. It's a virtual world in the mind that corrupts you the longer you stay. I've been waiting for somebody to write fic about the darn thing, but if no one else will, I may have to...

Hey, if no one else will write fic, then I say definitely do it yourself.
Don't really have any opinion about Tim/Tam, but I would at least hope that Tim and Cassie stay friends -- good friends. Kon may be alive, but he still died, and I think that's something that, at the very least, will connect Tim and Cassie for the rest of their lives -- losing him. Kon being back doesn't erase the grief and pain they went through, their actions after his death, and everything. With such a deep connection, well -- there aren't very many people who share a connection like that.
And I suppose that means I have to get caught up on Teen Titans too, to see what Kon is like now. Erm, is there a good issue to start with (is it even the same series)?

And yes! Even with so many relationships resetting back to "normal", I feel that there will always be a certain intimacy between Tim and Cassie now, an aspect of closeness to their friendship that won't go away and wouldn't have happened otherwise.
Meh. If you as me, Titans has only recently gotten good again. I recently read it for the Red Robin crossover, honestly. But that? Was pretty darned good, as is everything that touches the Red Robin title.

And yes, those were the very ideas I wanted to get across with the story.

I love the torn feeling she has, the push and pull she has between Kon & Tim, and the way she works through it and finds a way to step forward and grow up, let herself heal.
Beautiful!
