I get notifications when friends post, so I often click through to see them.

Nice I should do that. I believe i only get notifications when people reply to me. Back in the day friends post notifications would have been way too much...but now not so much

Have you figured out a work around the 'new' friends time based cutoff... a way to see who has posted most recently?
Maybe not an issue if you have notifications on?

also have you looked into dream-width, or another alternative?

it seems everyone is on FB... and i just hate that thing so much... but miss long form posts and feeling so disconnected these days. No idea why
