Belonging Memoirs (Disney: Tinkerbell)angel_gidgetJanuary 3 2009, 23:26:45 UTC
Peter once told her that the pirates' time in Neverland was short. She asked him why.
"They're grown-ups," he told her. "They don't belong here."
As far as Tink was concerned, it was true. Grown-ups didn't belong in Neverland.
So when she finally brought Peter back, all grown up after being gone for years and years... she knew his time there was short. She bartered with Hook and struggled with Peter's own disbelief as valiantly as she could. She had only three days to bring him back to who he once was. And after that... battle. Watching him go again. Loss either way you looked at it.
So when it was time for her to finally say goodbye, she told him that she would always be waiting in the place between asleep and awake. She didn't tell him that she wouldn't necessarily hold her breath for him to join her there.
She didn't tell him that she'd already made the most of the memories.
