Seasonal Spuffy Fall 2010

*sings*  It's the most wonderful time of the year!  Why yes, it's time to sign up for seasonal_spuffy!

I've been thinking about what I'm going to write (I have a few ideas like a sequel to "Fin Amour" or maybe a Season 2 story with lots of banter and tension and Buffy vs. Spike fight scenes), but I haven't settled on any one idea yet.

This is the fun part where ( Read more... )

I'm a bit intrigued by the idea of your writing a sequel to "Fin Amour", although, as you know, I think it's perfect as is. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't want to read more. :)

It's very difficult to make Spuffy season II, but if an author sticks to fighting, bantering and reluctantly making truces, I think a lot can be done to indicate that connection that will blossom later. Then again, a good enough writer *cough, angearia, cough* can also make an actual Spuffy couple fic work. *g*

The thing about "Fin Amour" is that yeah, I agree, I think it is perfect on its own. But I have a niggling idea for a story inside my head though because the way I deviated from canon has drastically changed Seasons 6 and 7 and I kinda want to be in that world, just let Buffy run with her baby daughter and her job as the Slayer ( ... )

Oh yeah, I can see that for a follow up to "Fin Amour". More of a gen fic, then? I was thinking Spuffy and thinking there was no way to do that that wouldn't be hokie, but if you just go with what that different world would be like for her, yeah. Could be great.

The only season 2 Spuffy I've been able to do that wasn't a pwp one-shot or a gen-type fic goes wildly AU and sets up a very different world. It uses the idea of a truce - in that they help each other out, but isn't even Spuffy in the real sense. Gets there in the following fic, though, which is technically still season 2, I guess. So, I kind of borrowed a theme - that Spike and Buffy could work together if/when necessary, and then followed them from there forward to see what could've happened as a result. Took four shortish stories to finally get them together permanently, though. :)

Well, I have this fic called Death by the 13th Genie (yes, I am going to kill Angelus again, poor thing) that I have 4,630 words written already that I'm thinking about using. I'll have to go back over it.

It is a season 2 fic. There's a genie trapped in that necklace he tried to give Dru. So, really less with the fighting and banter and more with the mystical, magical smex. LOL

And I think it's kinda getting a bit... odd. Kinda like my Death by Arrow, Cupid's that I wrote for Valentine's Day a few years ago.

Oooh genies are always fun! Doing something new with the mythos would be interesting. Less demons, demons, demons...

I don't know about 'new', but yeah, genies are rarely done. Most of us, myself included, just use vengeance demons. LOL I actually started the fic for a Friday the 13th story.

LOL. I meant it's kinda new for the Buffyverse.

Can I just say that I really, really enjoy reading Spike/Buffy set in BtVS s2?

Because I do.

The whole sinister attraction to your mortal enemy thing is one of my most favorite tropes.

Yep.

Just putting it out there. *whistles*

I don't want to be a wet blanket, but I'm not sure I can take another "Spike's dead but now Buffy appreciates him" fic. (Unless I had it wrong and he didn't die? That would be cool. Of course, death is fairly elastic in the Buffyverse, so it needn't be an impediment. I'll stop now.)

I have no problem with Season 2 Spuffy fic, as I am convinced the attraction was there from the first, and the story you describe sounds like BIG FUN!

I'm sure that whatever floats your boat will ultimately float your readers' boats as well. Bon escrité!

(I'll probably keep going with Defenseless, so you might get that body swap fic out of me yet...just a few months late.)
