This is Grace. This is Love.

This is the story of Buffy and Spike. A journey to love and forgiveness.

This is GRACE. Grace masterfully portrayed. It moved me to tears. ♥

I love the juxtaposition of audio clips with imagery.  The one that first strikes me is Buffy saying "I could never trust you enough for it to be love" from Season 6 joined with images of her trusting him ( Read more... )

I loved this powerful, beautiful video. The images are gorgeous and the chosen sound bytes are wonderful and fitting. Thanks for the rec, I wouldn't have seen it otherwise.

Ooh, that was really lovely ^_^ Usually music videos with audio on top come out rough because of the original foley mix, but obviously this vidder has the software to separate everything out. Loved it!

But how has youtube not taken this down? My Spuffy video survived for a grand total of 12 hours before it got slapped down for clip infringement =\ I waste so many hours on videos that no one ever sees *sigh*

Thank you for the Comment. I use no special software. I just have to make sure the sound is not to high and the fade in/out are long enough so you cannot detect the audio in the background.

When using sound-bytes I tend to chop them up, space them out differently so that it cannot be detected with YT fingerprinting software. Hope that helps.

Ooh, hey there! Thanks for the tip ^_^ The only problem is that my video got taken down because of the video clips used, not the audio. I'm pretty sure there is some kind of digital fingerprint embedded in the new dvds I bought because an Angel video I made with clips from the old bible-style box sets hasn't been taken down. It's really frustrating because I have tons of Buffy videos sitting on my harddrive that I can't upload anywhere! I wonder if there is some kind of program to remove the fingerprints...

What kind of video software do you use, may I ask? I'm still stuck using Windows Movie Maker but I've had the chance to use Adobe Premier and Final Cut Express before and loved them. So many awesome effects! :D

She's very talented with mixing the audio! I normally hate that effect because as you say it does come out rough, but love it when Stacey works her magic.

Yes, she sees him. It honestly makes me wonder how dare the comics bring it back to Buffy/Angel when Buffy has been shown firsthand that a vampire can conquer his inner demon for love. We've already seen "The Power of Love" in Spike's journey of redemption. Buffy's already seen the true "power of love" and it was good, not evil. Love inspires the power of redemption.

Maybe that's why Angel can never be redeemed (he seems destined to be eternally on the brink of evil). He was cursed and he's always fighting his own inner weaknesses. To be redeemed, you can't be saved. You have to save yourself through absolution.

I'm sorry I deleted my original comment -- it looked like half of it got lost/garbled by LJ.

And I absolutely agree -- a S/B take on the "power of love" would have been much, much different, and it's an outrage that such a beautiful story has been ignored or shunted to a battle over Buffy's magical vagina. It makes me sad.

This? Is brilliant. I love this insight!

The tenderness in this is just so moving. Thanks for sharing this.

I agree with you about Buffy being afraid of admitting her feelings. Opening herself up to love has always ended badly for her. In "Help" Cassie told Spike "Someday she'll tell you". In Chosen, Buffy finally was able to voice her feelings that we knew she felt, but was so scared to admit. I love Buffy/Spike because they are both damaged in so many ways, but together they wonderful.
